Miró, Joan

Spanish artist, Joan Miró was born in Barcelona in 1893. As early as 1923, he joined the surrealist movement of André Breton where he met among others, Max Ernst and René Magritte.

Very prolific as a printmaker, he produced a large number of etchings and lithographs. The gallery presents regularly some of his most beautiful specimens.

Joan Miró, installed his studio in Palma de Mallorca (Baléares) in 1956. He died there on December 25, 1983.
